In Sickness and In Health: Illness as a Rite of Passage

My client, Martha, emailed me before our session yesterday, to say she was in the hospital. She had had an asthma attack so severe that her husband took her to the emergency room. She wondered if I’d be okay if we could do our session while she was in the hospital. A lot was coming up with her and she wanted to talk about it sooner, rather than later. Of course, I was absolutely fine with that. I had no doubt, especially in conversation with Martha, some wonderful revelations would present themselves. Sitting in the hospital, Martha experienced a lot

The Common Denominator—Turning Life Upside Down

People often ask me how I can be so transparent, upfront and personal with my life. My answer is this: What I know to be true is that everyone of us are living through circumstances that, though may look different than mine, are actually very, very similar at the core of our experience and our being.  I share what I share about what it’s like to be me with the intention of letting people know that none of us are alone in our human existence.  Wherever you look, you’ll see people who are going through struggles that though may look

Sitting in the Extraordinariness of Someone Else’s Dream

Last night I watched the movie Spirited, with Will Ferrel, Ryan Reynolds and so many great actors—and with a huge cast (Written and produced by Sean Anders and John Morris. It’s on AppleTV). WOW!! The wow for me is that this incredibly complex modern Christmas story, is based on Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol.” However, the extraordinariness of, well, everything about this movie, silences my mind. In my heart I sit in that moment when one person said to himself, “Hey! I got an idea!!!” Whether its the Wright brothers or Anders and Morris, the moment inspiration is sparked is a

Deconstructing Me

The pitter-patter of the rain on my roof woke me earlier than usual. I turned up the thermostat, climbed back into bed and prayed I’d fall back asleep.  Thoughts that came to me before that slumber arrived had to do with my normal pattern of experiencing myself left out—it’s the holiday season, after all, and being a person without family close by, well, it’s part of my schpiel. Every podcast and blog, at this time of the year, reminds us that we are supposed to be grateful, generous, loving, kind, and forgiving of others.  Sometimes I just can’t get there.

Before Enlightenment—Cook Meals, Do Laundry. After Enlightenment—Cook Meals, Do Laundry. (A Modern Take on an Old Zen Proverb)

My client, Badrah, a Pakistani woman living with her husband and two teenage sons in Texas, has traveled through the depths of depression to exhilarating moments of enlightenment. She is not committed to enlightenment, only to relieving the suffering of depression and anxiety.   Badrah began working with me almost two years ago, not only to find answers to her suffering but also to train with me to be a transformational coach. Weaving training with personal work allows her to experience self-empowerment where only self-deprecation lived for so long. Much like for Badrah, most people who suffer from depression

Growing Peace—Who Me?

I For One Am Tired of Being Afraid I’m so tired of being afraid. I’m tired of waiting for the sky to fall, like Chicken Little. I’m tired of waking up anxious about war, shootings, weather patterns or the virus. I’m tired of it and want things to go back to Normal!   I Want Things to Go Back to Normal I want things to be the way they were—where I knew how to be me and how to do me with regard to—well, just about everything and everyone. What, on Earth, needs to show up in order for me

Why is Goal Setting Hard?

Letting It All Go

My friend Shannon asked me the other day, “So, Rosie, what are your intentions for this new year 2022?” I said, “My intention is to have no intention. Historically, anything and everything I intend regarding ‘more, better and different,’ brings me nothing but frustration–especially when it comes to monetizing my business. Financially, I’m fine. However, there is something gnawing at me, which keeps me feeling angst and anxious. In 2022, I’m letting go and letting God.”   Monetizing Your Business & Your Life In the world of attraction and manifestation, we are taught to hold intentions, create a vision board

We’re All in This Together

Every one of us is most likely feeling the trauma of natural disasters, whether it is fire, flooding, high winds, or pandemic. None of us have immunity to being with what is occurring around the globe. Natural disasters, and the fear of them, are hugely destructive of what is priceless in your life–both the material things and your sense of peace and serenity. What do you have when everything is swept away? Survival hormones kick in. Fight, Flight, Freeze. And in these current times, there’s nowhere to go, nothing to do. So those hormones aren’t very helpful. We project blame

Narcissist-Who Me?

Narcissism seems to be a theme that is showing up a lot in conversations with people I work with and with people I know. Whenever a theme shows up in such frequency, I know to suspect that I’ve got some personal exploring to do regarding that theme. So, I began to do some discovering! And, in doing so, I decided it might be fun to do a whole month of my Thursday YouTube Lives around the theme of Narcissism. Doesn’t that sound like fun?! They will start Thursday, Nov. 4th, at 3:30pm PST. Here’s the link. Now, I’m not an

The Ultimate Thinking Partner

Over the last month, I’ve been struggling with the needs of the Inward Bound: Bootcamp for Self-Transformation. There are so many details of this project that need attention to ensure that it will be a great experience for you. Part of the bootcamp experience is the Inward Bound Companion Workbook that I’m in the process of finishing. (It will be available later this year.) Under the guidance of Fesyk Marketing and my daughter Elissa, I’ve immersed myself in the process of making the workbook a great learning experience – one that is enjoyable, entertaining and inspiring, so that you feel inspired, to whatever

Families and Learning to Live Together

(This is an excerpt from the book: Parent Like a Guru, which was written in 2016. It is available on Amazon.com.) While many of us desire to parent as a spiritual practice, we sometimes get confused about what is spiritual – as in right-action, or right-thought, and what is not spiritual. The answers to this confusion will vary, depending on your religious training, your culture, and your family’s traditions. My perspective is that we are all spiritual beings here in human form, learning by engaging in the direct experience with the circumstances in front of us. Just like in elementary

Emotional and Spiritual Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence and Spirituality: Are They the Same?

I’m honored to have been writing blogs for Maximize Your Talents for many years now. MYT is an organization dedicated to enhancing emotional intelligence and leadership development. However, most of my books, blogs, and videos focus on the integration of spirituality into everyday life, which seems not so aligned necessarily with emotional intelligence per se. I became curious as to why MYT would continue to invite me to write for them when I feel as if I’m out of the emotional intelligence box. So, I decided to ask myself the question: Is there a difference, or is it the same

My Big Little Secret

I’m just going to come right out and say it: I’ve been using a pendulum as part of my daily spiritual practice for over 20 years. What????? My intention in sharing my secret with you in this moment is two fold: 1) My experience is that dowsing, as a practice of clearing energies, is essential to attending to the well-being of my whole being, and it’s time for you to know that, too! 2) Until today, I didn’t have anyone to refer you to, if you were interested in learning proper dowsing for yourself. Today, that all changed. My dear

The Spiritual Process of Being in the Undoing of Me

I’m meeting with my Virtual Assistant (aka VA) today. She expects me to have checked off EVERYTHING on my To Do list. The truth is, though, I CAN’T DELIVER! I don’t know how it is for other teachers, coaches, therapists or people who are on a spiritual path, but I know that for me, as I be with the topics of my YouTube videos, my blogs, and my life circumstances, more often than not, I am being worked on the inside and the outside.  What I talk about and what I write about has me go through the personal rock tumbler, as it were.

Choosing What is Infinitely Pleasing Over Guilt and Deprivation

The choices we make are so often created through a visceral and emotional trigger. Most of us are imperceptibly unconscious of these responses and consider them so normal we have no awareness of this process. We are unaware and unconscious of how we choose to choose what we choose! Until we become aware of how we choose what we choose we are at the mercy of a system – patterns of being, which keep us stuck, resistant and pretty unfulfilled. And, we wonder why life isn’t changing for us, even though we really want it different. Little by little I’ve

Spiritually Transformative Experiences – You Want to Know More!

Spiritually Transformative Experiences? What the heck are they? There is an organization that birthed itself about 10 years ago, called The American Center fro the Integration for Spiritually Transformative Experiences (ACISTE.org). Their mission is to train therapists, psychiatrists, spiritual guides, ministers, and life coaches to support individuals who have experiences beyond our 3D reality, and who need assistance to integrate these experiences into their lives. What are Spiritually Transformative Experiences? I suspect that more people than not have had a spiritually transformative experience. You may have a different name for the experience, such as: out of body experience, mystical experience, or

My Spiritual Principles and How I Came to Learn Them

A principle is not a directive. A principle won’t tell you what to do or how to do it. It is just a statement of perceived truth. It is a statement which guides and delivers each individual to their destiny. Discerning the principles by which you live your life might be the most important task of this lifetime! I created a lot of suffering in my life because I followed the principles that I was trained to believe were true. My religion, my heritage, my gender, my environment – each infused within me certain truths that I believed I needed

Be Happy For Others – It Can Be Contagious!

As a young adult in my 20’s, 30’s, and even into my 40’s, I would see people with partners, children, houses, cars – success and fulfillment in a nutshell – and I would feel resentful. They had what I wanted. To be honestly truthful, in my 60’s I still witnessed myself believing that I can’t get for myself what I so want in the world. I’ve been bitter, resentful, and I’ve have carried victimhood like a right and an entitlement for the tragedy that was my life. Why did they get what they wanted? Why not me? Mind you, I

Help, I’m Struggling!

Okay, the holidays are behind us, and now even the time for resolutions and anticipation of a better year is fading quickly. Help!! I had it all figured out: I had that peacefulness and serenity thing balanced and in place; I was back on track with eating cleaner food; clients were calling for sessions, the dawning of Spring, though officially a couple months away, was bringing the anticipation of the coming of more light during the day. So why do I feel bad, sad and mad? Where am I glad that I anticipated this new year? As I’ve grown myself

When Dreams are Dashed

I believe that there is a knowing of magic, a knowing of miracles and a knowing that all dreams come true. It is intrinsic to our essential nature as human beings. However, so many times in a person’s life circumstance creates challenges, and those challenges are catalysts for major life decisions that we make about ourselves, the world and other people. Those decisions make us or break us. It seems that way anyway. Really, they alway make us. All too often, those challenging circumstances appear to shatter this intrinsic knowing of magic and miracles, leaving us in despair and anxiousness.

Believe

My client Stephanie needs to create a pitch to a potential client. She is bright, creative, and loves supporting her clients in making magic happen. However, when it comes to delivering her pitch, she sometimes collapses into a puddle of self-doubt and fears of rejection. Stephanie wants to make sure that doesn’t happen this time, so she’s come into our coaching session with this at the top of her wish list! "Magic exists," she says. "I know this 100%! And, I love to jump into a project with exuberance and anticipation of amazing things happening for my clients. This is

I’ve Arrived! Well, Sort Of

After a long labor of love and introspection, my next book is about to arrive! It’s titled: I’ve Arrived! Well, Sort Of: 101 Discoveries and Revelations Stumbled Upon While On the Sacred Path to Who Knows Where. Yep, it’s a long title, but I love it, and I can’t wait for you to read it! You might not guess this about me, but every time a new book idea comes to me I initially say F*CK!!! Sure, transcribing millions of thoughts into a cohesive volume of words is a ton of work, but, in my experience, the book always knows
