Dilemmas of a Small Business Guru
Yes – You! You are a Small Business Guru. Well, maybe not yet, but you are certainly on the path!
Every successful business and every single business guru starts out having one idea that inspires them to do one thing to grow their idea into something more. The idea is a catalyst, which ignites a spark of inspiration – “Maybe I can turn my idea into something valuable -something people would pay money for.”
Perhaps inspiration compels them to begin online searches into starting a small business; maybe they share their idea with trustworthy individual; maybe they call a financial institutions regarding loans, financing, grants and investors, their parents, or someone else they knew who believe in them, and would hopefully just say the words: “You can do this!” Or, maybe this is all too much, and the couch, a bag of chips and a good movie calls!
Minds begin to churn out ideas, possibilities, potentials, as well as problems, practicality, and dilemmas. What if’s, to what’s impossible; from “this is going to be a huge success!” To: “There Ain’t No Way I can make a success of myself or my dreams.”
Already, you are most likely in the midst of a myriad of dilemmas. How you be a Small Business Guru depends on how you perceive yourself: Do you trust that you can trust yourself with successes and failures? This is a huge question – one that you may find yourself distracting yourself from. You either take the leap, or you wait until sometime down the road when you think it might be more possible. Even this is a dilemma – a choice-point. “To start, or not to start – that is the question.”
And, with this comes the questions: What? When? Who? Where? And, How? Basements, garages, spare bedrooms; part time, spare time, full time; profit, non-profit, no profit; sole-proprietor, partnership; employees, contracting out, and the list goes on!
I know that if you are reading these words, you are already considering how to do what to do, solely by you!
